The Humboldt Forum in the Berlin Palace will open at the end of 2019. In 2018 I made a design for the Humboldt Forum in Berlin with a colleague, Wil van Blokland. The design was nominated as the best 18 of the 135 submissions. Wunschwald: five trees made of steel, hanging upside down from the ceiling of the third floor of the Humboldt Forum. Hanging from the crowns of the trees were thousands of handwritten wishes, from people who visited or live in Berlin, written on porcelain tablets. These wish trees are a symbol for positive thoughts, a counterpart to violence and terror in today’s world.
